Happy Birthday to the Village Hall!

The West Meon Village Hall was officially opened in 1964 and this September we will
be celebrating its 60 years with a ‘Diamond Jamboree’ of events for you to enjoy on
Saturday 21 st September.
The day begins with a pop up café, featuring delicious coffee and cake prepared by
the WI, who use the hall for their monthly meetings. We will hold a Flower
Arrangement Competition- Garden flowers/Greenery arranged in a container of your
choice. Please drop off entries to the hall between 10-11. Judging at 11:15.
There will be a chance to admire artwork from the children at the village school and
an opportunity for you to share your memories of the hall and have a look at our
picture gallery and future plans.
Do you have any pictures of the hall in days gone by? Email them to
westmeonvillagehall@hotmail.co.uk to be included in our slide show.
The baby and toddler group meet at the hall on a Wednesday morning and the next
event in our jamboree is a stay and play toddler and baby ‘bring your own picnic’
from 12-1pm.
From 1:30-2:45 there will be a crafting session for all ages. Bring your own craft or
have a go at one of the crafts on offer. This is a free event.
From 3-5pm, there is an opportunity to watch demonstrations from some of the
many classes that happen at the hall during the week. Expect to see performances
from ballerinas young and old or try your hand at yoga!
The day will finish with a special BBQ and film screening of 1964 comedy ‘A Shot in
the Dark’ organised by West Meon Cinema, who are one of the latest organisations
to call the hall their home. Tickets for the BBQ and film are available from the village
shop (cash only please) and online from www.ticketsource.co.uk/west-meon-village-
hall.

We look forward to celebrating with you on the 21 st !
